HyeJin Yu is a sound practitioner, voice and sound meditation guide, song circle facilitator, and composer based in San Mateo, California. She is the founder of Ground in Sound, a method that invites joyful exploration of sound as a path to connection, healing, and presence. Fascinated by the ways vibrational sound therapy, vocal meditation, mantras, and chants can support balance in body and mind, HyeJin has trained as a Sound Healing Practitioner under Minna Sivola of Harmoniaalto and Lauren Waggoner of Soundology, is a certified teacher of Yoga of the Voice from Silvia Nakkach’s Vox Mundi School of Sound and Voice, holds a certification in Integrative Sound and Music from the New York Open Center, and is a certified Song & Chant Leader through Heather Houston’s Sisters in Harmony program.
Her work weaves together vocal meditation, healing chants, and vibrational sound to create safe, restorative spaces for both individuals and groups. With a compassionate presence and uplifting energy, she guides participants in releasing stress, reconnecting with themselves, and awakening their own inner capacity for healing. Rooted in both personal healing and years of training, HyeJin’s intention is to support others in being fully present, in-body, and in joy—so they may become healers of their own body, mind, and spirit.
